Fair Chance works in Wards 6-8, home to the city’s highest percentage of people living below the poverty line, in partnership with community organizations at the heart of change. These passionate, dedicated groups are doing critical work – tutoring, family strengthening, violence prevention, cultural enrichment, literacy, and job skills training–but they need help to keep their doors open and their programs running. Fair Chance identifies those that are ready, willing, and able to build their organizations through free, yearlong, customized partnerships. The team is composed of dynamic professionals with backgrounds in nonprofit and business management, public policy and media consulting, grassroots organizing and organizational development. They help partners build the skills of key employees, institute more sophisticated financial management systems, craft strategic plans, hire and train new staff, and create evaluation tools to help determine the impact of their programs. Working behind the scenes to create real, systemic change, Fair Chance is helping those who help others. Your help keeps the doors open and nurtures the very life of our nonprofit community.
