Columbia Heights Walking Tour      

Coalition for Smarter Growth
Join us for a walking conversation in Columbia Heights, a key example of D.C.'s strategy for transit-oriented revitalization. The city-led revitalization effort for the neighborhood, which was severely damaged by riots following Martin Luther King, Jr.'s assassination, includes 1.2 million square   more event info > feet of new commercial and residential development, new streetscapes and civic amenities. During our walk, we will look at, and critique, the new development and public realm improvements. The tour will be guided by Otto Condon, Urban Design Principal with ZGF Architects LLP. ZGF was commissioned by the DC Office of Planning and D.C. Department of Transportation to design the public realm improvements.

Volunteer Info:  The Environmental Film Festival relies on the help of dedicated volunteers. Volunteers are sought for the 2011 festival to assist at and evaluate festival screenings. Volunteers arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of each film and must volunteer for a minimum of FIVE programs. At least three EFF staff members and volunteers attend each film screening to hand out printed programs, track attendance, and fill out evaluation forms.
