Description of Volunteer Opportunities/Responsibilities:
FACETS has a wide range of volunteer opportunities for both groups and individuals. Volunteers can work with children or adults in a variety of programs, including after-school and evening tutoring, computer lab, career development / resume writing, reading, arts and crafts and confidence-building groups for boys and girls. Programs generally start and end following a school year calendar - Fall, Spring and Summer. Additionally, volunteers are needed to mentor both youth and adult clients throughout the year.
FACETS is also looking for individuals who are able to drive clients to and from medical appointments, job interviews, etc.
There are many office volunteer opportunities, including helping at the front desk to answer phones, greet clients, and helping with filing and data entry, as well as opportunities to assist with special events.
Monthly drives for non-perishable food items, hygiene items, etc are a great way for groups to help. There are many other volunteer opportunities, so please contact FACETS (703-352-5090) for more information!
