Description of Volunteer Opportunities/Responsibilities:
Afterschool Assistant: Volunteers assist 3rd-5th grade students from low-income, immigrant, and refugee families with homework and other academic needs. They also supervise educational activities and field trips.
Child Care Assistant: Volunteers assist in providing enriching and educational activities, as well as play games and read with children ages 2-12, while their parents attend one of Greenbrier Learning Center's workshops in the evening.
Summer Teen Intern: Volunteers assist in leading camp activities, supervise fun and educational field trips, support staff, and act as positive role models throughout the summer.
Office Assistant: Volunteers provide a number of administrative, clerical, or research duties.
Revenue Generation Committee Member: Volunteers assist with revenue generation in support of GLC's programs by planning our annual fundraising event and other activities.
Board Service: Board Members advise, govern, and oversee policy and direction, and assist with the general promotion of Greenbrier Learning Center's mission.
Number of Volunteers: 30
Types of Volunteers Needed: Adult-individual; Adult-group; Teen (13 and up)-individual; Teen (13 and up)-group
Training Requirements: Participants attend a brief orientation and undergo an observation period.
Hours Needed: Weekday; Weekday Evening; After School.
