We believe that donors are eager to learn about the needs of their community and to ensure that their philanthropy will make a difference. The Catalogue can be a trusted resource in that process. We've done the hard work of evaluation and vetting, so that you can spend your time reading, exploring, and discovering what most inspires you. We hope you'll be moved to get engaged and to give where you live. Because it's all about the power of one - one donor to make a difference in the life of a charity, one charity to make a difference in the life of a family, one family to contribute to the well being of a community. Contribute to the Catalogue

If you believe in what we're doing, consider making a gift to the Catalogue, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization. Your donation will help us amplify the voices, extend the impact, and accelerate the success of Washington's best community-based nonprofits. Just click the "donate" button on the left side of this page.

Donate Online

Browse our nonprofits by field, subfield, or region and, when you find what interests you, click the donate button to add a charity to your Giving Cart -- always accessible at the top right of the screen. (Click the links on the charities pages to learn more about them.) The processing costs for completing your transaction and distributing your funds are just one of the many costs we incur as we work to connect caring citizens with worthy community causes. We ask you to make a very low 2.5% plus $0.30 donation that may be added to or subtracted from your contribution. Either way the the full amount of your donation is tax deductible. Please note that all donations are final: there are no refunds!

Send a Check by Mail

Download our Giving Form, write one check to the Catalogue for Philanthropy, send it to us at 1899 L Street, NW, Suite 900, Washington, DC 20036, and we will distribute 100% of your contribution as you direct. Or write directly to the charities of your choice ... and remember to tell them you found them in the Catalogue!

Sign up (your information will be stored but never shared) so that you can use all of the features described below. If you choose, you can also elect to receive information about the charitable organizations that interest you most.

Save Your Favorites

Assemble a "favorites" list to keep track of your interests, make your gifts with a single click, print your own personal catalogue, or create a gift registry that friends and family can visit. First browse our nonprofits by field, subfield, or region -- or choose "advanced search" if you want to zero in on a tighter subject or region -- then click the favorites link to begin assembling your list.

Buy a Gift Card

Purchase a Catalogue Gift Card and give the gift of philanthropy to someone you love -- a family member, teacher, or friend. Gift cards are wonderful holiday presents, and make great employee recognition gifts, too. (An additional processing fee of $2.50 will be added to the cost of each card you order.) Running late? Order an E-card and either print and deliver it, or send it directly from our site. We charge no additional processing fee for E-cards.

Get the Kids Involved

Engage your children in philanthropy by introducing them to kid-friendly charities here on our site. (They can print their own Catalogues, too.) We have selected some that we think will be of interest to youngsters.

Donate Now/Decide Later

Use our Donate Now/Decide Later Fund and make a contribution to the Catalogue in November or December (online or by mail); then let us know who your beneficiaries are when the busy holiday season is over. To "Donate Now/Decide Later" online, just write "decide later" in the designation box during checkout

Make a Gift of Appreciated Stock

As the economy gets moving again, consider a gift of appreciated stock. Donating appreciated stock can be a "tax-wise" way to conduct your charitable giving.
