Hospice Caring, Inc.
At Hospice Caring the point of view is simple: no patient need die alone and those who grieve deserve others who care. The only volunteer, non-medical hospice in Montgomery County, its purpose is to assist terminally ill patients and their families with the physical and emotional challenges they face. The Patient and Family Program offers non-medical care--from grocery shopping to funeral planning--wherever the patient is: in a home, hospital, nursing home … or jail. The Cottage assists ambulatory patients who might otherwise be left alone. Adult bereavement groups aid those suffering from a loss—whether they are Widows and Widowers, Healing Hearts (under 50), or Empty Arms (recovering from miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death). Children are often “the forgotten mourners,” so in partnership with MCPS, the Good Grief Club provides tools for coping (old enough to love=old enough to grieve) and Camp Caring hosts the only weekend bereavement camp for Montgomery County kids. Since 1989, Hospice Caring has trained more than 2,200 volunteers who have driven over 1,000,000 miles and served more than 250,000 hours. Winner of the Marriott Spirit to Serve Award (among others), Hospice Caring isn't just a place; it is compassionate care at the end of life. Your compassionate care is much needed.
