Heartly House

WISH LIST
$100: basic supplies for 3 shelter clients for 1 week;
$500 1 safe week in a shelter for a family of 3;
$1000: 35 counseling sessions for a survivor of domestic violence

Violence and abuse are realities that many residents of Frederick County endure alone, keeping their pain a secret from others. But secrets can have far reaching consequences – contributing to a cycle of violence that can ripple through generations. For more than 25 years Heartly House has been the sole provider of comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence, rape, and sexual assault in Frederick County. Today, services include a 24-hour hotline for victims of sexual crimes; counseling services that help clients understand the dynamics of violence and the tactics of abuse; legal advocacy and representation along with safety planning and support; emergency shelter for those in immediate danger and transitional housing for survivors who choose not to return to unsafe situations; accompaniment and medical advocacy at the hospital; community outreach and education for audiences from pre-K through adults (each is tailored to the audience); and referrals to other agencies and organizations. The services at Heartly House are comprehensive because the need is great. Your compassionate philanthropy is so important here.
